A life’s winding path and all the experiences along the way…

Recent Stuff

It’s a very rainy day here in Socal and Reiko and I are somewhat bored. So we’d thought we’d inflict the same on you.

1. Scotland’s national animal is a unicorn. That explains so much, doesn’t it? It symbolizes  purity, innocence, and power. In other words, batting 0 for 3.

The unicorn’s name is “Tynecastle”

2. It has been proven that when given a choice, chickens prefer to eat leftover fried chicken or chicken nuggets from fast food establishments more than chicken feed. I’m lovin’ it.

Colonel Cannibal Sanders

3. Apparently up to 10% of Europe’s births occur to women who conceived their child on an IKEA mattress/bed. 6% worldwide. No reliable numbers exist for the US.

IKEA Cat Bed, assembly required, cats not included

4. Statistically, most people will spend a year of their life sitting on the toilet. (Probably being watched by the dog. Right, Reiko?)

Reiko’s housetraining proceeds apace

5. Your average dog is roughly as smart as a two year old child. (Does not apply to all dogs. Trust me. It’s an average. Right, Reiko?)

Ordering treats from Amazon, no doubt

You may now return to doing something productive with your day.

Does productive include staring at chester while he sleeps?

    1. Reiko's Journey Avatar

Yes, because any Zen activity is productive and watching Chester sleep is about as Zenny as one gets.

HA! Love your factoids! I find them fun! I snort-laughed! 😀
Cooper ALWAYS had to follow me into the bathroom! And if I closed the door before he got in, he scratched on the door, or put his paw under it as if to say, “Mom, I’m here! I need in!” When he got in, he’d always lay at my feet and just be with me. I sure do miss my bathroom buddy!
BTW…As a mom, grandma, and having had a career as a K-1st grade teacher for my career, I think most dogs are w-a-y smarter than a 2 year old hooman.
I think dogs are certainly smarter than most of the adult hoomans of 2025!
(((HUGS))) and ❤️❤️ and continued bestest wishes to Reiko and to you!! 🙂

I actually have to apologize for this post. See, I was working on some SEO (Search Engine Optimization) stuff, still trying to set up this new blog and I needed a short “clickbaitey” post to do some testing so, in a sense this was a throwaway post. In the end my experiments were a failure which keeps my streak going. 😊 But, really, what is it with dogs watching people in bathrooms? And I agree with your assessment of canine intelligence, PLUS they know enough to stay quiet most of the time. ❤

I am beginning to wonder why that sanitorium allowed you to leave.
Unicorns are indeed powerful creatures whose nobility can only be subdued by pure maidens.
Of course, these are in short supply in England.
Symbolic of royalty, the type that lead and serve their nation, unlike the English benefit scroungers.
And the unicorn reflects a Scots free and independent attitude to life.
Unlike in Hawaii, where submission to MacDonald’s and volcanoes comes first.

I see what you did there. 😈

Wow, You really did pick up a lot of French living there, didn’t you?

Interesting factoid back atcha: rain doesn’t fall, it’s pulled to earth. I’m sure knowing that will make Reiko feel much better about going outside in it.

Now you got me humming “Defying Gravity” and thinking about anorexic singers and green witches.

        Don’t forget the gay chickens.

It’s fun to stay at the YMCA…er, I meant poultry house.

Murphy would love it. (Of course there may be no more chickens by morning.)

Love to hear from ya
